Road Closure Texarkana Water Utilities will be working on Sanderson Lane, Texarkana, Arkansas commencing Wednesday, October 14. Both lanes of traffic, on Sanderson Lane, will be closed starting Wednesday afternoon in order to do a sewer extension. Road closure signs will be posted; workmen will be in the area. It is anticipated that this project will be completed by Saturday, October 17. A section of sewer line will be extended at 8010 Sanderson Lane. Sanitary sewer service in the area will not be affected. Texarkana Water Utilities announced in March that disconnections and late penalties were suspended but as with many other municipal utilities the grace period is over. No penalties were assessed for past-due amounts from March through the end of July/August respectively, and payment plans of up to six months are available for accounts in arrears. Customers will need to pay the current bill and a portion of the past-due amount that is acceptable with the customer. Payment options available to customers include auto draft, online payments, pay by phone, mail, payment drop box and drive-thru at 801 Wood Street. A trailer has been set up in front of the green waste drop off area. Signage will direct customers from South State Line to the trailer. A window on the trailer will serve as the drive-thru window, where customers pay for compost/woodchips. The customers will be asked to proceed to the compost site and remain in their vehicle. The employee working in the trailer will radio the compost site and let them know what the customer purchased i.e. quantity, loose/bags. Hours of Operations are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed on designated holidays. Chlorite Reporting Violation Notice The TEXARKANA WATER UTILITIES water system PWS ID TX0190004 has violated the monitoring/reporting requirements set by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Chapter 30, Section 290, Subchapter F. Public water systems are required to collect and submit chemical samples of water provided to their customers and report the results of those samples to the TCEQ on a regular basis.
